As a Consulting Actuary, you will play a pivotal role in guiding clients in strategy development, retirement plan design, plan financial management, regulatory compliance, and risk management. You will significantly influence your team's performance and enhance client outcomes. As a Senior Retirement Actuarial Consultant, your expertise will be key in cultivating client relationships and leading projects independently while fostering the growth of your teammates and collaborating with stakeholders.

If you are client-focused and possess experience working with Trustees and/or Corporates on Defined Benefit (DB) pensions within an actuarial consultancy role, we are eager to connect with you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a trusted advisor, engaging clients with a variety of complex DB pensions projects and providing strategic advice.
- Utilize industry-leading expertise and infrastructure to design and implement sophisticated actuarial solutions for diverse DB pension scheme clients.
- Act as a thought leader within the pensions industry, offering insights on current trends and tailoring advice to meet client needs.
- Manage day-to-day workflows, address client queries, and collaborate across teams to deliver comprehensive advice and strategies.
- Oversee client projects that focus on customized solutions that exceed expectations.
- Build and nurture key business relationships to identify and expand revenue-generating opportunities.
- Take responsibility for team management and lead new business activities, including fee negotiations.
- Mentorship of junior team members by reviewing their work, delivering training, and supporting their professional development.
- Coordinate with internal resources across departments to ensure seamless service delivery and client value addition.
Essential/Desired Experience:
- Extensive experience working with Trustees and Corporates on DB pensions, with a comprehensive understanding of the UK pensions landscape.
- Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple projects and effectively prioritize tasks.
- A collaborative mindset, capable of teamwork and mentoring junior colleagues.
- Robust technical actuarial expertise combined with a strong sense of business acumen.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively.
- Strong client focus with the capacity to communicate complex concepts clearly and consultatively.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, ensuring clarity in conveying complex issues to clients and team members.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities are essential for the Senior Consultant and Scheme Actuary roles.
- Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; familiarity with actuarial/modelling tools is beneficial.
- Nearly/newly qualified actuary or a fully qualified actuary with relevant post-qualification experience.
- A self-motivated individual who can work both independently and collaboratively.
