Job Title: Senior Cardiac Physiologist
Salary: up to £49,450 dependant on experience
Hours: 37.5 per week
Location: 60 Grove End Road, London, NW8 9NH
We are looking for Senior Cardiac Physiologist to join our team at HJE. The post holder will lead on the non-echo diagnostic investigations within the service. Clinical duties include performing 12 Lead ECGs, Holter Monitoring and Analysis, Event Monitoring, Blood pressure Monitoring, Exercise Testing, routine pacemaker checks and Administrative duties. You will also support Consultants in Exercise stress, Dobutamine Stress echo and bubble and contrast echo. The successful candidate must independently write physiologist clinical reports for the following: Ambulatory monitors and ETT analysis. Good organisational skills and flexibility is essential.
The Cardiology & Respiratory Department provides a diagnostic service for patients referred with actual, or suspected, heart / respiratory disease/conditions. The service comprises outpatient facilities, inpatient provision, and offers a comprehensive range of non-invasive investigations. The Department also provides training and technical support for the Nursing Department.

Am I the right person for this Senior Cardiac Physiologist role?
BSc in Clinical Physiology or equivalent
ALS (desirable) or ILS
BSE or equivalent.
Experience as independent practitioner in cardiology investigations
Experience of assisting in Pacemaker and Implantable Loop recorder implantation (desirable)
The use of Medtronic, Boston Scientific and St Jude Pacemaker programmers (desirable)
Physiologist led Exercise Testing
Experience in assisting with/performing Exercise and Dobutamine stress echocardiograms and bubble and contrast echocardiograms
Able to perform a wide range of non-invasive investigations independently
Understanding of cardiac procedures and techniques
Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing
IT skills24 hour Holter analysis
What are the Responsibilities of this Senior Cardiac Physiologist role?
Responsible for safe use of complex cardiology testing equipment to ensure patient and personal safety
To implement quality controls and assurance in accordance with agreed standards
Cleaning the cardiology equipment in accordance the hospital infection control policy on the cleaning of bio hazards
Perform the full complement of cardiology investigations without medical supervision and maintain awareness when a result requires further immediate follow up and act accordingly
Manage the pacemaker follow up lists conducting annual reviews, or advised in line with MHRA
Perform the full complement of cardiology investigations namely, ECGs, Holter monitoring, ECG event monitoring, BP monitors as well as analysis and interpretation of results and take appropriate action (as required). Perform exercise stress and dobutamine stress echocardiograms and bubble and contrast echocardiograms with Cardiologist
To perform Exercise Testing, medically unsupervised/physiologist-led with or ILS certified physiologist. To assess patients suitability for test and to stop test when clinically appropriate. To take whatever action necessary during adverse incident.
To exercise clear clinical judgement when deciding to commence, terminate or abandon an investigation should the risks outweigh the diagnostic / treatment benefit.
Write technical reports for relevant investigations and Escalate any urgent and/or unexpected findings to the relevant teams/doctors
Undertake research and clinical audit in conjunction with the physicians and manager
Maintain through hospital training, ILS and/or ALS training to assist during cardiac arrest situations
To assist the Cardiologist in theatres with DC cardioversions
