We have SEN support roles available in Chelmsford and Colchester for long term assignments which could become permanent for the right candidate.
We have exciting opportunities across Chelmsford and Colchester for inspirational and highly supportive special education needs teaching assistants, learning mentors and 1:1 outreach workers, to join popular, flourishing and supportive special schools,
Duties include:
Taking on some classroom responsibilities within well- resourced classrooms
Assessing the individual needs of pupils and following their IEP s
Evaluating and reporting pupils progress to teachers, carers and health care professionals
Managing challenging behaviour in a positive way
Personal care for the students in your care if needed
These roles will involve either small group work or working with students on a 1:1 basis so you will need to have good communication skills to be able to build strong relationships.
The successful candidates will have some experience within the following:
Autism Spectrum Condition - ASC
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder - ADHD
Sever Learning Difficulties - SLD
Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties- PMLD
Experience of de-escalation techniques, Picture Exchange Communication (PECS) and Makaton would be a distinct advantage but not necessary.
