The Copthorne Hotel Newcastle is are seeking an experienced Reception Shift Leader to provide a warm welcome, helpful and efficient service to guests

As Reception Shift Leader your key responsibilities include:

·Providing a friendly and efficient service to guests, ensuring company policy and procedures are complied with, consistently

·Being knowledgeable to promote the hotel and its facilities

·Dealing with guest queries/complaints promptly and communicating with the Duty Manager, as appropriate

·Providing accurate shift handovers ensuring all items requiring attention are detailed in handover diary and the shift checklist is completed to the required standard

·Carrying out float checks and handling all cash transactions accurately throughout the shift including the issue/use of safety deposit boxes

·Ensuring telephones are answered promptly and politely, according to Company standards

·Ensuring all reports are updated regularly throughout the day

·Being aware of special promotions operating in the hotel, ensuring they offered to maximise occupancy/revenue

·Ensuring all information is communicated to the relevant department in the interest of providing excellent customer service

·Being aware of specific daily functions/events, in order to deal with enquiries efficiently and effectively

·Assisting the Front Office Manager with the smooth running of the department, including supervision and training of the Reception team

We are keen to hear from applicants with the following:

·Previous Reception experience within a quality hotel

·Excellent knowledge of computerised Front Office system, e.g., OPERA

·Excellent communications skills

·A positive, ‘can do’ attitude

·The ability to work well under pressure

·Excellent customer service skills

·Ability to work on a rota basis, including weekend work. Typical shifts are 07:00-15:30 or 14:30-2300, as the business requires
