Production Planner / Manufacturing Scheduler
Location: Luton, Bedfordshire
Salary £32k plus benefits
We are a specialist manufacturer of complex high end technical products based near Luton, Bedfordshire. We are currently seeking a Production Planner with experience of manufacturing scheduling, production planning, and monitoring flow of products through the entire production cycle within a manufacturing environment.
In return for working 37 hours per week we offer a salary of £32k plus a generous benefits package and paid overtime when available. You will be able to choose to work either of these standard hours of work:
Mon-Thu: 07.00-15.00, Fri: 07.00-14.30 OR
Mon-Thu: 08.00-16.15, Fri: 08.00-14.30
This role will involve:
Review open sales orders to determine customer requirements.
Carry out planning and coordination of production schedules.
Understand and react to scheduling 'What If' scenarios.
Job creation to satisfy all departments' needs.
Monitor of workflow and schedule to ensure on-time delivery right first time.
Monitor and control of all scheduling activities.
Prepare, inspect, and distribute production shop documentation for production/workload.
Coordinate with other departments to develop and maintain scheduling and delivery goals.
Customer shipment entry.
Coordinate between production and supply chain to expedite required materials.
Applications are welcomed from Manufacturing Schedulers and Production Planners who have worked within a manufacturing or production environment.
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximising the effective manufacture and distribution of goods are considered key to fulfilling this role.
Previous experience of MRP or ERP software (preferably the Epicor ERP system, but this is not essential as training can be provided) is highly desirable.
Good communication skills are important for working within the team environment and understanding safety procedures, as are time management skills and the ability to multitask.
