Summary of Role:
Our rapidly expanding company is currently searching for a Payroll Administrator to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible for the weekly payroll of all temporary agency staff that we employ, liaising with clients on behalf of the sales team to solve finance queries from clients and candidates, be responsible for credit control budgeting, forecasting, account reconciliation and profit and loss reporting. You will also support the compliance and recruitment department with essential administration tasks to ensure our agency staff are vetted and compliant before working in schools. This is an excellent opportunity to be a key person in a fast-growing and successful recruitment company and work alongside the managing director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for weekly payroll for all contractual workers including chasing timesheets.
  • Identify, investigate & resolve discrepancies in timesheet and payroll records.
  • Work with the sales team to solve finance queries
  • Enter payroll information into the central system for processing - maintain payroll processing system and records by gathering, calculating and inputting data.
  • Complete payroll reports for record-keeping purposes and managerial review.
  • Work with senior teams to grow the business, formulating strategies and plans.
  • Ensure corporate budgeting processes are carried out and reviewed.
  • Ensure that the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met.
  • Sales ledger functions, ability to chase debts
  • Credit control functions/purchase ledge functions
  • Supporting the compliance team with right-to-work and criminal record checks of work seekers
  • Support the compliance team with diligent referencing of work seekers.
  • Be involved in the candidate registration process from the outset.
  • Assist candidates with the application process and answer their questions.
  • Perform other related admin tasks and reasonable duties as instructed.

Person Specification

  • Good Understanding of Tax Procedures, familiarity with benefits and other wage deductions
  • Have a full and thorough working knowledge of relevant legislation, adhere to payroll processes and comply with relevant law.
  • High levels of attention to detail and exemplary writing and use of grammar.
  • Excellent Organisation & Data Entry skills
  • Good verbal communication with employees, clients and candidates
  • Good listening skills, tact and honesty are essential
  • Effective ICT skills with the ability to use the entire Microsoft Office suite of products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access.
  • Pro-active and positive approach, sound decision-making skills & ability to work on a deadline.
  • Ability to show initiative and good judgement, functioning well under pressure.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, be adaptable and perform accurately in an environment of multiple demands.
  • High level of ambition to succeed with a practical 'can-do' mentality.
