Fawkes & Reece are currently recruiting for an experienced and talented new build housing Assistant Site Manager to work closely with the Site Manager on a high-value project for one of the leading regional housebuilders. Our client is a busy and experienced contractor who are searching for a new member to join the management immediately. Candidates who have experience within the area of new build housing are highly desirable for this position. The ideal candidate will have experience in helping carry programmes through to completion with exceptional standards, as our client are known for their high specification, superior build quality and good design of their plots. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to improve and adapt their current skills as an Assistant Site Manager, complying to the quality control and safety standards that the contractor maintains.
Assistant Site Manager Responsibilities:
The client has many busy sites across the North West so location is flexible. Core duties may include:
Able to read and understand all documents relating to Specifications, Drawings, Preliminaries and Contracts
Advise Sub-Contractors of the Site requirements
Building relationships with NHBC Inspectors and potential clients and tenants
Assist the site manager in ensuring targets and deadlines are met
Help enforce the current Safety, Health, and Welfare standards
Ensure current Safety, Health and Welfare requirements are met and implemented
Keep an eye on orders & deliveries so all materials are accounted for when needed, in addition to ensuring they are within accordance with Contract Specification
Keep the Build Programme up to date
Liaise with Sales department and customers to ensure the highest possible Customer Care performance/ satisfaction and complete all relevant inspections and documentation
Liaise with the sub-contractors regarding the site
Maintain a professional image within the Site Offices and Storage Compound
Making sure that the site team and subcontractors are compliant with Company policies and procedures
Undertake site safety induction for all new site personnel
Working closely with design team, customers, sub-contractors and suppliers
The key attributes wanted from an Assistant Site Manager on this site are someone who can effectively work within a site team and help manage the workers on site in addition to liaising with both internal and external personnel. Meeting deadlines is vital in this job, so someone who has 5 or more years' experience in assisting management on a housing site is highly preferable, in addition to a trade background- ideally joinery or bricklaying. In terms of qualifications, SMSTS or SSSTS, First Aid (and CSCS) are essential to work on site.
