Head Chef – Kelso– Straight day Shifts Only

£25,000 per annum depending on experience

No evenings or late nights, 45 hours per week, 30 days holiday

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced Head Chef in a successful, established, family owned, customer facing business operating throughout Scotland, Northern England and Wales

The large restaurant boasts an impressive menu serving the highest quality, mouth-watering dishes using the best local produce along with sweet treats and home baking.

The successful candidate, along with the Restaurant Manager, will run the operation as if it were their own, drive sales, implement ideas and deliver freshly cooked meals that rival any local restaurant. They will be a real foodie and will lead and motivate the team includes a second chef, baker, commis chefs and kitchen assistants

The role has a great deal of scope and if successful you will have a fantastic opportunity to develop your career and be rewarded for your success.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Head Chef, with high volume experience, who will relish the prospect of working in this fantastic facility, or this role could suit a very competent and ambitious 2nd Chef looking for their next step up.

ROLE – HEAD CHEF

As Head Chef you will:

·Lead the kitchen team, taking full ownership of the kitchen operation

·Be hands-on ensuring the restaurant remains the number one place to visit.

·Write and cost seasonal menus using all fresh produce

·Recruit, lead, train and develop the team

·Work in a hands-on capacity leading from the front

·Control labour, manage wastage and all costs & budgets

·Ordering & stock control

·Maintain high standards of service & compliance with company systems & procedures

·Work closely with the front of house team

ATTRIBUTES – HEAD CHEF

We are looking for:

• Previous experience in a busy high volume restaurant, pub, hotel or cafe.
• A passion for using the freshest ingredients and delivering the best food.
• Experience in designing menus using locally sourced produce.
• Enthusiastic, bright and bubbly with a great deal of charisma
• A great personality with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and staff alike.
• A passion for excellent service and serving the highest quality food and home baking.
• Strong people skills and the ability to train, motivate and develop your team and liaise between both the front of house and kitchen teams.
• Back of house skills and the ability to do the weekly paperwork providing stock figures and writing rotas, controlling labour costs etc.
• Proven ability to drive sales and improve the business
