Disbursements Manager - Shipping - West End - £60,000
Your new company
You will be joining one of the UK's largest shipping companies as a Disbursements Manager on a full-time, permanent basis. You will join a close-knit finance team, reporting into the Assistant Finance Director. Based in their modern West End offices five days a week, you will be located in a fantastic area of London with access to excellent transport links.
Your new role
In your new role, you will manage one Analyst who has been with the business for over two years, managing their day to day duties and ensuring they meet all targets set. Your key responsibilities will include monitoring vessel portal calls, following up final disbursements accounts from agents, obtaining approval for amounts not included in the estimate, arranging settlement of outstanding balances, identifying possible opportunities for enhancing quality/timeliness of key deliverables and collating final disbursement accounts. You will also have the opportunity to assist in the firms migration to a new finance system next Spring/Summer.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this role, you will need previous experience with line management of at least one employee. You will preferably come from a shipping/ship management background and have exposure to disbursements. You will have previously overseen both the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions within a medium-large sized organisation. Experience with statement reconciliations and/or working with suppliers/other departments to resolve queries and solutions in a timely manner is highly desirable. You will possess strong Excel skills and have previously used a modern ERP system (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, SUN etc.)
What you'll get in return
In return, you will receive an annual salary of up to £60,000 (dependent on experience) and this will be regularly reviewed to remain in line with market rate. You will be working as part of a highly experienced team who will be on hand to support your training and development from day one. You will be located in a fantastic area of London, close to great theatres and restaurants.
