About the role of Assistant Planner
We are seeking an Assistant Planner to join a leading team working on high-value infrastructure projects, particularly in the structures, bridges, and M+E (Mechanical & Electrical) sectors. Based in Middlesex with the flexibility of hybrid working, you will play a vital role in planning and coordinating major projects worth millions. The successful candidate will support a multi-disciplinary team, working closely with engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery and effective timelines.

Responsibilities for Assistant Planner
Assist in developing detailed project plans and schedules, ensuring timely completion of key project milestones.
Support in monitoring project progress, identifying risks and issues, and providing solutions for delays or bottlenecks.
Collaborate with the engineering and project management teams to gather project data, update schedules, and create reports.
Assist in the preparation and analysis of project forecasts, resources allocation, and critical path assessments.
Engage with external contractors and internal teams to coordinate project timelines and ensure effective communication.
Use industry-standard planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) to track and update project schedules.

Requirements for Assistant Planner
Previous experience in a planning role within the civil engineering, structures, or M+E sector.
Strong proficiency in project planning software such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present data effectively.
Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Relevant qualification in engineering, construction management, or a related field (preferred).
A proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail.
